作为国内艺术界最具学术价值的媒体之一，《库艺术》多年来持续关注当代水墨领域，并陆续推出第35期《传统的激活——当代水墨媒介的内省与超越》、第44期《乡愁与忧思——当代视野下的中国山水文化》、《东方根性当代生长——水墨卷》等以当代水墨为研究对象的杂志与丛书，自2015年起，又作为世界上唯一一个以当代水墨为主题的艺术博览会——香港水墨艺博的独家纸媒，编撰出版《心与手——2016水墨艺博特刊》。

2017年第三届水墨艺博即将开启之际，《库艺术》将与水墨艺博再度携手，隆重推出《水+墨：亚洲视野下的水墨现代性转化》专题图书与“SHUI-MO”系列学术论坛及展览活动，以水墨艺博的国际视野和文化碰撞的强度，结合《库艺术》对水墨领域多年的学术策划、梳理的经验积累，并邀请中、日、韩和港台地区的批评家、画廊主、策展人、艺术家们共同参与，在2017年末集力呈现一次有关于“水墨文化”的“游牧”之旅!

千百年来，“水墨”在亚洲、尤其是中国人的心中，并非只是一种单纯的绘画媒介，而是一种文明的象征，是一种承载了东方式哲学、人生观、审美意识等的载体。二十世纪以来， 水墨进入向现代转型的阵痛期，这一历史性转折到现在仍未结束。且不止于中国，以韩国、日本为代表的亚洲国家亦不可避免地这一进程， 又因各自文化的差异呈现出迥异的变革路径与风格， 直到今天，“水”与“墨”这两种至为单纯的材质也因此蕴藏了太多的精神与文化密码需要去解密和破译。

《水+墨：亚洲视野下的水墨现代性转化》 专题图书将通过学理研究、脉络梳理、个案分析等方式，对各个不同国家、地区之间水墨衍变状态进行横向的比较、参照、问答，对应并激发出有关“水墨”话题的打开， 也对“ 水墨文化”进行一次全新的、既非“西方话语”又不落入“传统范囿”的 审视与解读。

“WATER+INK” TOPIC INTRODUCTION

For thousands of years, “INK”, as in Chinese mind,is not merely a medium of painting, it is a symbol of civilization, a material carrier of ancient cultural tradition. It merges oriental philosophy, aesthetic consciousness, concepton of life together, which is hard to tell apart.

If we open the field of our view, make a horizontal comparison in the range of China, Japan, Korea,we will find that there are many difference in the process of modernization, such as the attitude to tradition, the path of innovation, although they possess their own artistic traditions.Undoubtedly,Japan is the most avantgarde,the modernist movement have a comprehensive and profound development in there,at the same time keep a very distinctive cultural characteristics of their own. As the birthplace of“Ink”, China seems always jumped between the two extremes, retro and revolution alternate to become the theme of times.

With the success of “Monoha” “Gutai” “Dansaekhwa”in the world,The chinese artists also started to have a selfperception ,for example the relationship among creative,traditional culture and personal expression.“INK”used to be the perfect expression of Oriental Aesthetics,but today, it is a new great subject that we face how to open the “INK”, Facing the socialtransition and then express to the world.

KUART and “INK ASIA” together launch the special topics named Water+Ink: The modern transformation of Ink from the.Asia perspective , and it will appear in December when the “INK ASIA” held in HONGKONG. It is also a new opportunity to observe and understand the “INK” beyond “western discourse”and “traditional style”.

论坛以拼音“SHUI-MO” 命名，一方面表明水墨一定要在其精神建构、价值判断、语言系统等诸多方面面对当代世界的挑战，面对现代性的命题，同时也一定要在当下更大更广的范围内去观看、解读与传播；另一方面，在最深刻的精神内涵和话语的主体性上要有其文化自觉。“下学而上达”，只有往历史的深处进发，才能站上时代的前沿，这也与《库艺术》正在策划的《水+墨：亚洲视野下的水墨现代性转化》专题图书大的学术主旨相契合。
